Rivanna Auction Co. offers a straightforward, local consignment process for individuals and families looking to sell quality items through an online auction. We focus on manageable consignments, clear communication, and realistic expectations from start to finish.
What We Accept
We are a good fit for:
- Small antiques and collectibles
- Mid-century modern furniture and décor
- Hobby and specialty collections
- Quality decorative and household items
We prioritize items that are well-kept, resalable, and suitable for local pickup.
What We Don’t Focus On
Items should generally have resale value beyond garage sale pricing.
To keep our process efficient and fair to consignors, we do not currently offer:
- Full estate cleanouts
- Low-value household goods
- Large volumes of common items with limited resale demand

How the Consignment Process Works
1. Initial Contact
Email us with a brief description of what you’d like to consign. Photos are helpful but not required.
2. Review & Agreement
We review the items, confirm fit, and provide a consignment agreement outlining commission, timing, and expectations.
3. Drop-Off & Listing
Accepted items are dropped off by appointment, photographed, and listed in an upcoming online auction.
4. Auction, Pickup & Payment
After the auction ends, buyers pick up locally. Consignors are paid after successful pickup, in accordance with the agreement.

- All auctions are conducted online only
- Local pickup only — no shipping
- Items are sold as-is
- We cannot guarantee sale price or bidding activity
